Oil Spill across Black Spur (10/04/2024)
This afternoon, just on 3:00pm, Narbethong and Buxton brigades were responded to a reported washaway on Maroondah Highway between the Dom Dom Saddle and Narbethong.
Upon arrival it was found that a motor vehicle accident had occurred, some time earlier, due to a fuel spill across both lanes of the highway.
Three occupants of one vehicle were treated by ambulance officers and transported to Maroondah Hospital.
It turned out that the fuel spill extended well past the scene, virtually to the Fernshaw picnic ground and below. Victoria Police attended and once a second unit arrived and VicPol was set up to control traffic, the CFA crews were released.
