Eligible Containers even come from Melbourne (18/04/2024)
This morning members of the Buxton Progress Association and the brigade combined forces to collect containers from the station and Buxton Hotel and transport them to the Eildon Container Deposit Scheme. This was in preparation for the brigade's Open Day on Sunday.
As it would happen, just as we were about to relocate to the hotel, a ute pulled in with a load of aluminium cans. Jo (right) and her friend Judy were on their way to do some photography in Marysville and had brought Jo's containers with them from Melbourne. Jo says her family regularly visits the area and has been dropping off crushed cans for years.
We threw her load in with the rest and, after grabbing what Linda had at the pub, took it all over to Jason in Eildon.
