Busy Day fixing up the Station Grounds (06/04/2024)
It was a big effort this morning (and early afternoon) with members getting stuck into the station grounds ahead of our 80th Anniversary Open Day. Working on multiple fronts, we laid roadbase and toppings behind the hedge (which will become a courtyard once the hedge is returned to the boundary), prepared the new garden bed at the flagpoles, finished washing down the station walls, cut back the bush roses along the station entry and cleaned up the grass, cleared around the gum trees along the road reserve, trimmed the neighbour's hedge near the gazebo, and dealt with a not too friendly European Wasp nest.
Thanks to Carmel for organising the smoko which was enjoyed under the gazebo. The gazebo has definitely proved its worth, especially with a light shower hitting as soon as we took a break. Thanks also to Norm Fiske, and the Marysville Lions Tool Library, for use of their wacker plate.
Our Open Day is 21 April from 11am.
