Stan Larner: Awards Presentations (20/04/2024)
CFA Service Award: 55 years
Stan Larner was recognised for 55 years of distinguished service to CFA. He joined Buxton Fire Brigade in August 1968 and was our 1st Lieutenant from July 1982 until June 2002 before taking on the role of Captain until June 2010.
Stan was our Captain during the 2009 Bushfires and the period immediately after. Despite suffering a debilitating farm accident some years ago, he continues to actively work his farm and support the brigade, attending brigade meetings and scheduled radio testing.
He was awarded the National Emergency Medal for his service in Black Saturday and was presented with his National Medal for Service with 3rd Clasp in 2019.
