CFA Life Member Awards (20/04/2024)
By resolution of the Brigade, Buxton Fire Brigade may nominate a member of the brigade to the Authority for award of CFA Life Membership.
As a general rule, subject to compliance with CFA’s separate criteria, the Brigade will apply for CFA Life Membership for any Brigade Member awarded Brigade Life Membership.
CFA Life Membership is awarded by the Authority upon application by a brigade to CFA Members who have, in general, an aggregate dedicated service of not less than 30 years in one or more fire brigades or with CFA.
CFA Criteria: The key elements CFA takes into account in awarding Life Membership to a member of a brigade are:
- an ongoing commitment to CFA or brigade over many years;
- contributions to CFA or brigade that have enhanced its standing within its membership and the wider community;
- commitment that does not seek personal reward; and
- a high level of recognition from within CFA or brigade of the nominee’s work over a number of years.
Upon resignation or retirement CFA Life Members automatically become a CFA Honorary Life Member.
