Vehicle Incident on Black Spur (04/07/2022)

This morning Buxton and Marysville brigades were responded in support of Narbethong brigade for a reported motor vehicle accident on the Maroondah Highway below the Black Spur.

A vehicle travelling towards Melbourne lost control on a bend and travelled across the centre line and collided with an oncoming vehicle. It is possible the road surface was wet or had ice on it. It is vital that people drive to the conditions especially when temperatures are low and road surfaces may be slippery.

The vehicles were recovered by Marysville Towing and the road surface washed down before appliances departed the scene. A unit from Marysville Police attended along with Ambulance Victoria. Units from Marysville CFA were released prior to arrival to ensure coverage for the Triangle area.

Please drive to the conditions over the Spur, take it slowly, stay left of centre, respect other drivers, and arrive at your destination safely.
