Multi Agency Rescue for 4WD Incident (06/03/2022)
This afternoon, just after 4pm, a multi-agency response involving Police, CFA, SES, and Ambulance took place in the Black Range at Narbethong. Buxton and Marysville brigades were responded to support Narbethong brigade. SES units had already been responded and had located the incident scene prior to the arrival of the other services and established a multi-agency radio channel.
The incident involved a difficult rescue of a person injured when a 4WD vehicle slipped off a track, along Westons Track, with the vehicle coming to rest down a steep decline. The person needed assistance from ambulance and both SES and CFA units worked together to get an ambulance officer to the patient. As a precaution, rope rescue crews from Monbulk CFA and Wandin CFA were responded but the patient was able to be carried out.
Marysville SES Controller, Jo Hunter, took control of operations and coordinated the response. Another great example of how all the emergency services in the Triangle work as a single team.
