Alexandra Group trains on Mobile Training Props (13/06/2021)
This morning members from Buxton, Acheron, Thornton, and Alexandra brigades converged on the Alexandra Emergency Services Complex to undertake some structural firefighting training. The session involved both skills acquisition and skills maintenance for both bushfire and structural qualified members.
Two mobile training modules are currently located at Alexandra; one that simulates a car fire and another that allows members to practice a fire involving a LPG cylinder. The LPG cylinder prop is the newest addition to CFA’s range of mobile training modules.
A number of the members took the opportunity to complete their Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus skills maintenance. Under CFA’s current Covid-19 protocols, the mobile training sessions are classified as essential training and a Covid-Safe plan was in place.
Further sessions will occur over the next few weeks.
